Dear CSSJ Families,
It is with great excitement that I write to you on the summer solstice, the longest daylight of the year. I write with the hope that you are enjoying the long summer days and making the most of your time with family and friends. May the restrictions of the pandemic be a thing of the past and may we look forward to a normal, healthy, and happy return to school in August.
In the meantime, I have really appreciated the welcoming Zoom meetings the administration and faculty have been sharing with me as they await my arrival. I look forward to meeting many of you as well in the summer even before school begins. I will be hosting Meet the New Principal evenings in late July and early August to provide an opportunity to share my vision for the school and to hear what you cherish about Cathedral School and what hopes you have for her future. Please note the dates below. My door is also open as of July 12th should you wish to meet with me in person. Don’t hesitate to reach out to Ms. Lujan to set up an appointment. As of July 12th, I will be available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each weekday.
Many of you may be wondering when the school will publish the faculty for the coming school year. Blessedly, we will have a stable return of most of our outstanding faculty. This year, the teaching application pool has been sluggish, and I have been exacting about finding a proper match for the school particularly in the Middle School where I will devote my own services as the 8th grade Language Arts teacher. Thank you for your patience and trust as we complete the teaching team of CSSJ so that we can bring the highest level of excellence to the 2021-22 school year. I look forward to publishing a final list sometime in the month of July.
I set off by car to St. Joseph on July 1st. Say a prayer for my safe travels. I look forward to seeing you in person in less than a month!
Miss Catherine Neumayr
Principal, Cathedral School of St. Joseph
